we had highlighted that urgent and significant headway on the implementation of Front-of-Package Labelling (“FoPL”) on packaged foods was needed and that inspiration may be drawn from the International Standards of Packaging to safeguard the collective health and well-being of all persons, especially growing children in India. We had also emphasized on the obvious, scientifically substantiated and commonly known nexus between various health issues like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension etc., and foods that are categorized as High in Fat, Sugar or Salt (“HFSS”) or Ultra-Processed Foods (“UPF”) which are available in the market.
