Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics – Suspension of Associate Professors Beyond Three Months

By the impugned orders dated 17.10.2025, the petitioners were suspended and disciplinary inquiry was initiated against them. However, suspension was continued beyond three months.

the issue which has been raised by the Petitioners is whether the suspension order can extend beyond a period of three months in the event of the charge sheet not being issued and/or served on the delinquent officer/employee and there is no reasoned order passed for such extension of suspension during that period.
