Pioneering and salutary model draft of Legal Audit Act – essential for certification of contracts and business of establishment

Recently, Mr. Amit Deshpande, Advocate, practising at the High Court of Bombay has given the Research Document of Legal Bridge Foundation (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) of Advocates group.

It provides for very interesting salutary model draft of Legal Audit Act (proposed) and its salient features.

In addition, it is suggested for introduction of law as a subject in school syllabus.

To my mind, it may be first of its kind proposed in the country.   It will go a long way on its enactment and implementation.

As rightly said in the preamble, the paramount objects of LA Act is general check up, assessment of statutory compliances of an establishment so that the management and stake holders to know their establishment.

Effects of model LA Act are succinctly mentioned.

The important model provisions ares for creation of Internship and National Institute of Legal Auditors as a body corporate.

To my mind, the Research Document on model Legal Audit Act, Certification of contracts / agreements by the Advocates, / An opportunity to the complainant or victim throughout the trial and law subject in school syllabus need consideration and introduction.

With the introduction of model of LA Act, it is quite clear that the litigation will be reduced to a large extent and also accountability with transparency will come in every contract and establishment.
