Primary Teachers – How to ensure attendance in the school – Use of Technology

JIO Tap Photo on WhatsApp to mark presence of he/she primary teachers & students – Legality of Circular

By the Circular dated 28.11.2024 of the CEO, Zilla Panchayat, Vidishi, to submit JIO Tap Photo on WhatsApp to ensure and mark presence of the primary school teachers and the students, during school hours.

The Circular was issued since the teachers do not come to the school, they do not furnish correct information of their attendance and casually take their school education job.

This was challenged on the ground of violation of privacy of female teachers and girl students as also misuse of photographs uploaded on WhatsApp.

Taking note of the concerns of the female teachers and girl students, it was directed to find out a tangible solution.  Till solution is evolved, female teacher would be permitted to send photographs of the Campus or Office of the Principal treating it to be attendance.   Since every smart phone carries META-DATA, the Control Room would decipher actual presence of that staff on the basis of META-DATA.
