Concerns about the radiation and health hazards are addressed by the High Court of Bombay and referred to scientific studies and DoT standards while dismissing the Public Interest Litigation for blanket opposition to mobile towers.
The State of Maharashtra, by virtue of the Government Resolutions dated 17.4.2025 and 2.2.2025, applied the Telecommunications Act, 2003, from 26.6.2024 and the Right of Way Rules, 2024 with effect from 1.1.2025 in the State of Maharashtra. By the Circular dated 2.5.2025, the Government directed all Municipal Corporations and Councils to scrupulously follow the provisions of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 and the Right of Way Rules, 2024.
