RTI – Disclosure of Third-Party Information given to SEBI

SEBI as a regulator makes appointments of Public Interest Directors to the Boards of various Stock Exchanges in public interest and for proper regulation of the stock exchanges. RTI information and notings, correspondence and other documents including policy, guidelines, etc; by SEBI were sought. SEBI has invoked exemption under Section 8(1)(e) of the RTI Act. This is fiduciary capacity by the SEBI including the information supplied by candidates to be considered for appointment as Public Interest Directors and grant of approval by SEBI.
