The learned Single Judge of the Delhi High Court directed BCI to process the South Korean national’s plea for enrolment as Advocate in India since he had taken law degree in India. In appeal, the Hon’ble Division Bench wants to know if the Indian Citizens who have received their law degree in South Korea are permitted to enrol as advocates in South Korea.
Proviso to Section 24(1)(a) of the Advocates Act provides that a “foreign national” may be admitted as an advocate on a state roll if the “citizens of India, duly qualified” are permitted to practice law in the foreign national’s security.
