Redevelopment must prioritize the dignity, shelter and well-being of senior citizens.

 

Special Cell at SRA to handle complaints of Senior Citizens

 

Monitoring Committees at Project Level with senior citizen representatives for redressal of grievances in respect of redevelopment – Quarterly review meetings by the Chief Executive Officer of SRA

It would be certainly an endeavour of the State Government as also of all the authorities under the State Government, and its bodies like the Municipal Corporation, MHADA, MMRDA, SRA, etc. who are concerned with the redevelopments of buildings within the ambit of their respective authority and power, to take an expedient and appropriate view of the issues, concerning redevelopments wherein senior citizens are involved, and achieve a meticulous and strict compliance of the directives as issued by the State Government.

 

  1. Furthermore some additional and proactive steps as may be necessary in a given situation, can also be taken in accordance with what has been set out in the said circular, with utmost expedition, so that redevelopment is not delayed and the senior citizens are not Page 3 of 5 Laxmi ::: Uploaded on – 10/12/2025 ::: Downloaded on – 19/12/2025 15:41:34 ::: 7 WPL 37903-25.DOC required to unwarrantedly suffer. To further such intention of the State Government, all the planning authorities shall maintain a list of redevelopment projects involving the senior citizens and information to that effect be called from the owners / societies / developers, so that the progress of these projects is monitored in the interest of the senior citizen
