Open House One Day Consultation conducted by the National Human Rights Commission held on 25.8.2023 on health insurance for persons with disabilities.
Even after enactment of RPWD Act 2016 for equality to the disabled, they face discrimination in health insurance.
There is massive lack of awareness on welfare of disabled and the glaring gaps of disability inclusion in the health care system.
The gaps are – denial of coverage or limited coverage or no coverage, inconsistent testing requirements, etc. It is imperative to provide affordable and comprehensive products and services.
