Tattoo – Unfit for employment in Central Industrial Security Forces
On 7.6.2023, the petitioner was called for medical examination after the written examination, physical standard test, and physical efficiency test for the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Executive).
On 8.6.2023, the Medical Board opined that the petitioner was medically unfit since there is a tattoo mark on out-surface of his right forearm i.e. saluting arm.
On 20.5.2025, the revised uniform guidelines for recruitment medical examination were issued. Clause 11(3) – Tattoo “…..On the other hand, the present young generation is considerably under the influence of western culture and thus, the number of potential recruits bearing skin art had grown enormously over the years which is not only distasteful but distract from good order and discipline in the force.”
The criteria for permissible use of Tattoo are also laid down.
