E-post Service of Court Summons / Notices – Bridging Digital Divide
Salutary decision of the Kerala High Court – On 15.6.2024, the Kerala High Court has issued the Notice to introduce e-Post Service of the INDIA POST as a new option for service of summons / notices / orders to the respondents, on pilot basis.
The Postal Department has introduced the e-Post Service in the country. By this service, the e-Post customers can send their messages to any address in India with electronic commission and physical delivery.
e-Post sends a soft copy through internet and at the destination it will be delivered to the addressee in the form of hard copy at the cost of Rs.10 per page of A4 size.
This ePost Service should be followed by one and all the Courts, Tribunals and quasi judicial Authority through the country to reduce the considerable delay caused by delivery in physical service of summons / notices.
