TRAI – Reduction in Mobile and other telecom service licences

Exhaustive Recommendations Report dated 19.9.2023 of 90 pages on Rationalization of Entry Fee and Bank Guarantees

The recommendations are aimed at

Investment and growth

Improve quality of service and consumer welfare

Entry Fee of Rs.1 crores is reduced to Rs.50 lakh for each circle

Entry fee of Rs.0.5 crore to Rs.25 lakhs for JK and North East each

National and Internal Long Distance – Rs.2.5 crores to Rs.50 lakhs

Public Mobile Radio Trunking Service – Rs.50,000 to Rs.20,000 for each circle

Internet Service Providers for national area – Rs.30 lakhs to Rs.10 lakhs

No entry fee at the time of renewal

Merger of Bank and Performance Bank Guarantee in single E-Bank Guarantee
