The Main Mediation Monitoring Committee, Bombay High Court, has proposed amendments in Civil Procedure Mediation Rules II of Civil Procedure – Alternative Dispute Resolution & Mediation Rules, 2006.
Proposed Clause (e) to Rule 3 Panel of Mediators provides that the empanelment of Mediators shall normally be for a period of three years and the Committee may give extension having regard to the performance of the Mediator.
Now the period of 15 years is reduced to 10 years standing at the Bar for the Legal Practitioners and added the qualification of Intensive (40 hours) Mediation Training or having diploma / degree in Mediation in clause (b) of Rule 4 – qualifications for empanelment.
Proposed changes in clause (c) of Rule 4 provides for 10 years standing for the experts or other professional or retired senior bureaucrats or retired senior executives and undergone intensive (40 hours) Mediation Training or having diploma / degree in Mediation.
