Surrogacy – Maternity / Paternity & Child care Leave – Central Govt employees

Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972, are amended by the Notification of 18.6.2024 to provide for following leave –

Maternity leave of 180 days in case of surrogacy, the surrogate well as commissioning mother with less than two surviving children and in case either or both of them are Government servants.

Paternity leave of 15 days within a period of six months from the date of delivery in case of a child begotten through surrogacy, the commissioning father who is  a male Government servant with less than two surviving children.

Child care leave in case of surrogacy, the commissioning mother with less than two surviving children.
